Stoatmod must sit above the member it acts on and above the role it assigns. A permission alone cannot override hierarchy.

Symptoms

  • Automatic role appears configured but the member does not receive it.
  • Timeout, kick or ban is rejected.
  • Nickname restoration fails.
  • Setup reports a hierarchy-blocked target.

Resolution

  1. 01

    Identify the target

    Copy the exact member and role IDs.

  2. 02

    Move the Stoatmod role

    Place it above the target member's highest relevant role and above every assigned role.

  3. 03

    Confirm permissions

    Check Assign Roles, Manage Roles, Manage Nicknames or the moderation permission needed.

  4. 04

    Repeat a controlled test

    Confirm the real server state, not only the event message.
