Prepare the channel

  • Restrict access to appropriate moderators.
  • Give Stoatmod View Channels, Send Messages and Send Embeds.
  • Set a retention and evidence policy that matches the privacy policy.
  • Avoid using a public discussion channel for sensitive logs.

Configure and test

  1. 01

    Copy the channel ID

    Use the exact Stoat identifier.

  2. 02

    Set the channel

The expanded aliases are also supported.

    ~log CHANNEL_ID
  3. 03

    Create a harmless test event

    Use a controlled moderation action.

  4. 04

    Verify the entry

Check actor attribution, reason, time and actual outcome.

Know what exclusions mean

Channel exclusions control automatic moderation, not every possible audit or gateway log. Test sensitive channels separately and avoid promising that an exclusion makes every event invisible.
