Start from a ready installation
- Stoatmod is present in the correct server.
- Its role sits above members and automatic roles it must manage.
- The setup audit has no unresolved permission or hierarchy failures.
- A private log channel is available.
- A server owner or authorised moderator will own the initial configuration.
Your first 20 minutes
- 01
Open the private dashboard
Request a single-use code and confirm the intended moderator can sign in.
~dashboard - 02
Choose the log channel
Use a channel where Stoatmod can view, send messages and send embeds.
- 03
Review the starting protections
Inspect spam, join, image, nickname and link settings instead of enabling everything at once.
- 04
Keep a conservative threshold
Begin at 90% while learning how real community messages are classified.
- 05
Verify one real outcome
Use a controlled test account and confirm the member, message, role and eligible case state match the reported result.
What the private dashboard unlocks
The private dashboard brings settings, cases, appeals and activity into one control room. Access is limited to the server owner, members with Manage Server or people explicitly granted access by the owner; ordinary moderator status alone is not sufficient.
~dashboardRequest a single-use dashboard login code.
Leave the quickstart with evidence
- A real log entry reached the intended channel.
- The tested action changed the actual server state.
- The response did not claim success for a blocked role or permission action.
- Cases exist only for eligible actions and describe what occurred.
- Server rules explain any verification, automatic moderation and appeal route.
