Collect the complete context

  • Case reason and status.
  • The member's current warning, timeout or ban state.
  • Message or image evidence where lawfully retained.
  • Moderator notes and previous related cases.
  • The member's appeal statement and attachments.

    Confirm the rule

    Identify the member-facing policy in force at the time.

    Confirm the outcome

    Check what actually happened, not only the event label.

    Review consistency

    Compare similar cases without ignoring relevant context.

    Choose and explain

    Accept, deny or request more information with a clear reason.

After an accepted appeal

  • Confirm the warning stopped counting when applicable.
  • Confirm the timeout or ban was actually reversed.
  • Record any failed automated reversal.
  • Use a manual correction when needed and document it.
  • Update policy or training when the case reveals a recurring problem.
